Koko FitClub is officially open in downtown Charleston's Cigar Factory on East Bay Street, just in time for post-holiday workouts.
This location, owned and operated by Mark and Jennifer McMahon, is Koko's first in South Carolina. A second will open soon in Mount Pleasant's Sweetgrass Corner Shopping Center.
"We are thrilled to bring the Koko FitClub method to the Charleston area," Mark McMahon said. "Koko offers a unique, customized fitness regimen tailored to each individual member, and that's something new to the Charleston market that I think people will find exciting and motivating."
The Cigar Factory location is offering 30 days of the club's highest membership level for $30. Those joining either Charleston location can have full access to both facilities, once the Mount Pleasant site opens.
The downtown club is at 701 East Bay St., Suite 103; the Mount Pleasant club will be at 1909 Highway 17N, Suite P210 near Towne Centre.
The Cigar Factory location is open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays. Members can also access the club beyond regular staffed hours from 5 a.m. until midnight every day. For more information, please call the Cigar Factory location at 843-608-9874.
