Climbing from a No. 41 ranking just five years ago, Clemson University was ranked 24th on Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine list of 2016 best public college values in America.
The distinction marks the second consecutive year the university has taken the 24th spot on the magazine’s list.
Ranked No. 24 for in-state students, Clemson is the only South Carolina college on Kiplinger’s list. Editors based the distinction on Clemson’s high four-year graduation rate, low average student debt upon graduation, low tuition costs and available financial aid options. For out-of-state students, the university was ranked 29th.
“We are excited that Clemson has been included in such a prestigious group of colleges and universities,” Robert Barkley, Clemson’s director of admissions, said. “Quality, affordability and a complete student experience are some of the traits that prospective students look for when trying to find a college home. Those attributes are also a big part of what Kiplinger’s considers in their ranking evaluation process.”
