John A. “Jay” Jones, a special counsel at Barnwell Whaley in Charleston, recently announced that he has accepted an invitation to be part of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC).
This counsel is among the most prestigious legal organizations around the globe. Lawyers and insurance executives must be invited to join the IADC since they must represent the world’s insurance and corporate interests.
Jones attended the University of North Carolina for his bachelor’s degree. He earned his juris doctor at the University of Miami School of Law, cum laude.
Jones has practiced law as an attorney since 2004. His law practice is dedicated to complex civil litigation, products liability, professional liability defense, construction law, personal injury litigation, and insurance defense. He is also a certified mediator, participating in alternative resolution dispute at the firm.
“Jay has been an essential member of our defense litigation team for a number of years,” Attorney Randell C. Stoney Jr. of the firm said. “We are thrilled for him to be recognized and included in this distinguished organization. He has developed a busy and diverse practice, including among other areas products liability defense and complex commercial litigation.”
Additionally, Jones is also part of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association and Defense Research Institute.
