The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce recently announced that it has hired Andrea Mock, an Emmy-winning journalist, to be the Associate VP of Communications and Public Relations.

For the last 10 years, Mock was the evening anchor at WLTX News19, CBS in Columbia. Previously, she worked in Toledo, Ohio for NBC24 and in West Virginia for WDTV, CBS.

While working as a journalist, Mock earned three regional Emmy Awards as well as multiple AP News awards that recognized her reporting skills.

“I am very excited to join such a time-honored, trusted organization with such a solid history advancing and protecting businesses in our state,” Mock said. “The past few years of business growth here has shown the sky is the limit for companies in South Carolina, and it’s my mission to see that trend continue.”

In addition, Mock is a volunteer for HappyWheels, where she is a board member. She also volunteers here time for public speaking and public relations at the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Association, and Heroes In Blue.

“Andrea joins our team with a solid history in communications, but more than that as journalist in Columbia for the past decade, she has covered the new business investments being made in our state and has an understanding of all of the issues businesses are facing at the state level,” Ted Pitts, South Carolina Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, said. “We knew with her level of knowledge and her own personal relationships in South Carolina, she was the perfect choice to advance our mission at the state chamber.”
