The Reedy Reels Film Festival kickoff party, which was free to attendees, revealed the schedule of film categories planned for the two-day event in Greenville.
The kickoff party was hosted at Yard House on Woodruff Road, and included a raffle for tickets to the event, giveaways, appetizers and unveiling of the film schedule.
The festival will take place at the Peace Center’s Gunter Theatre Nov. 4 and 5. Each day will host designated film categories. The lineup for Nov. 4 includes documentaries at 2:45 p.m., foreign films to begin at 5:45 p.m. and local films set for 8:45 p.m. The following day will offer student films at 11:45 a.m., animation films will begin at 2:45 p.m., shorts are set for 5:45 p.m. and feature films will kick off at 8:45 p.m.
“The film categories really showcase the talent and artistic stylings of the Upstate’s independent
filmmakers,” Mike Giordano, the festival’s VP of operations, said. “We are looking forward
shining more light on our local film community.”
Last year’s recipient of best feature award, Greenville filmmaker Chris White said his latest project, “Unbecoming,” an original five-part Southern Gothic anthology, will debut at this year’s event. White’s work will be shown Nov. 4 during the local films category.
