The South Carolina Department of Commerce announced the expansion of the Alfmeier Friedrichs & Rath (AFR) Greenville facility today.
The developer and manufacturer of automotive components is expected to invest $5.8 million and create 50 new jobs.
“AFR is pleased to be expanding operations in Greenville to accommodate our increasing business," AFR President Markus Farrenkopf said. "Our success is a direct result of the dedication and hard work of all of our associates, particularly those on the factory floor who strive to do things a little better each day. We are proud to be part of a community and state that recognizes and supports the benefits of manufacturing and look forward to continued future growth.”
AFR is expanding the factory by 20,000 square feet and its offices by 10,000 square feet. The company currently employs more than 500 employees in three locations. Hiring is ongoing; interested individuals can visit the AFR career page.
“Alfmeier Friedrichs & Rath’s expansion in Greenville exemplifies what we’ve always known to be true, that we have a talented, educated and diverse workforce here that’s perfect for our international companies," Greenville County Council Chairman Dr. Bob Taylor said. "We’re grateful for AFR’s investment and continued support to Greenville County.”
