At the inaugural Charleston Angel Conference, emerging companies and accredited investors will gather to hold a two-day business conference that will result in a final presenter receiving a $100,000 investment.
The conference will start on Oct. 19 with the second day scheduled for Nov. 5. Final registration for both companies and investors is Oct. 1. Investors must pay a $1,500 registration fee, and companies wanting the investment must register for $250.
During the event, the investors will work together to evaluate emerging companies before they invest $100,000 in a presenting finalist. This is an excellent opportunity for both interested as well as active angel investors to have more exposure to how angel investing works. They will also be able to interact with companies that are seeking investments.
From the companies’ side, these businesses will gain a platform for their business pitch. There will be 30 companies chosen to have just five minutes to explain their pitches to the investors. After their pitches, there will be just five chosen companies that will then compete for the $100,000 investment.
The local community, even if not interested in the conference, is welcome to attend the Nov. 5 Pitch Day Session. The entrance fee is $15 to participate at the Charleston Museum, 360 Meeting St., at 1:30 pm.
