W. Brian Moody was posthumously awarded the 2016 Joseph P. Riley Leadership Award, also referred to as the ‘Big Joe’ Leadership Award, by the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce.
The 24th annual award is given to a visionary leader in the community who is also an outstanding community volunteer with a lifetime of leadership. Joseph P. Riley was an important citizen in the region who made sure to help the area to grow.

Moody chaired the Citizens for Community Improvement Campaign for the Chamber, helping to pass the half-cent sales tax referendum. He was a member of the Charleston Metro Chamber Board of Directors, including serving as chairman of the board from 2005-06.
Moody, who passed away in March of this year, earned a bachelor of science degree in administrative management from Clemson University and started his career as a Certified Public Accountant in 1995.
He will be honored at the 2016 Charleston Metro Chamber’s Honors Night event on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Charleston Marriott Hotel and tickets may be purchased for $85 per person on the Chamber’s website.
