Sheila Bias, who works as an attorney at Fisher Phillips in Columbia, South Carolina, an employment and labor firm, has been chosen for the Leadership Columbia Class of 2017, an initiative of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce.
This program focuses on existing or emerging leaders based in the Midlands. For the 2017 class, 59 individuals have joined the program. This will be the 44th graduating class of the program, first established in 1972.
Participants in the class were selected according to their application as well as interview scores. Each of the applicants were chosen by groups of alumni from Leadership Columbia.
The chosen applicants demonstrated strong civic involvement, diversity in their perspectives, leadership potential, and dedication to their communities and to the overall leadership program.
For the program, the group will be part of a curriculum for 10 months. They will attend several class sessions each month, join a class project, go to a retreat, and participate in several enrichment activities throughout the area.
“Sheila continues to demonstrate her value to both our clients and the Columbia community through her work in and out of the office," Stephen Mitchell, managing partner of the Columbia office, said. “We look forward to watching her continued success."
