For their dedication to regional quality of life and economic development, multiple finalists will be feted at the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce 2016 Honors Night awards Sept. 15 at the Charleston Marriott.
Eighteen enterprises named recently by the Chamber will have representatives present at the annual event, with its traditional award categories of “trailblazer,” “beacon,” “rock star,” “pillar” and “milestone” — not to mention “the one to watch” — commemorating unique strengths demonstrated by local and regional firms from both public and private sectors.
Trailblazer finalists — for creating an innovative product or service — include Biblio Labs, Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union and PeopleMatter. Contenders for the Beacon award commending a building project include Charleston County Aviation Authority, Riverfront Park at North Charleston and Gaillard Performance Hall.
Rock star aspirants positively impacting the region are Southwest Airlines, STEM Premier and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Charleston District. The Pillar award for ongoing excellence will go to Robert Bosch LLC, Charleston Southern University or Home Telecom; while The Milestone will recognize small business achievement, with finalists being Cantey Technology, Freeland Construction Co. Inc. and Wonder Works.
Finally, The One to Watch award will commend an outstanding young professional among finalists Lauren Newman of Carolina One, Meredith Siemens of South Carolina Federal Credit Union and Ryan Johnson of the City of North Charleston.
Additionally, one visionary leader who stands out for exceptional achievement will receive the Joseph P. Riley Leadership Award.
The Charleston Marriott is located at 170 Lockwood Boulevard. For more information about the 2016 Honors Night Awards and to purchase tickets, visit www.charlestonchamber.net/honorsnight or call 843-577-2510.
