Greenville, South Carolina-based firm Gallivan, White & Boyd recently announced that shareholder H. Mills Gallivant has been named president of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC).
The goal of the FDCC is to promote knowledge, justice and fellowship within the law sector.
Gallivan has been a civil defense litigator for more than four decades, specializing in workplace practices, personal injury and commercial issues. Currently his focus of practice includes mediation, alternative dispute resolution and service as a special referee.
He is active in the National Foundation for Judicial Excellence, South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys' Association, Lawyers for Civil Justice and DRI-The Voice of the Defense Bar.
Gallivan's term with FDCC will end in July 2017. GWB attorney John T. Lay Jr. has been tapped as of president of the International Association of Defense Counsel; John Cuttino, also a lawyer with GWB, will become president of DRI –The Voice of the Defense Bar, this fall
