Jimmy Clarkson will be market president for the Loris, Conway and North Myrtle Beach markets as First Reliance Bank expands into those areas and opens a loan production office that will eventually become a full-service location.
The new office began operations July 11 and is located at 348 Highway 701 North, Loris.
Clarkson comes to First Reliance from Horry County State Bank, where he was CEO. His resume also includes times at several other Horry County community banks, where he served in a variety of executive and management capacities. In his new role with First Reliance, he will be in charge of developing the company's market share and overseeing operations.
"Our purpose has always been to make a difference in every life we touch," First Reliance spokesman Rick Saunders said. "We look forward to making a difference in the Loris, Conway and North Myrtle Beach communities."
Clarkson earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Clemson University, and went on to earn a number of certifications as well as a degree from the School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University.
“We are excited to have Jimmy Clarkson on our team as he is well known in those communities," Saunders added. "We know he’ll provide exceptional service to businesses and consumers as he leads our growth and expansion efforts.”
Clarkson has been active in a number of professional organizations, including Independent Banks of South Carolina, South Carolina Bankers Association, S.C. Bankers Employee Benefits Trust, Horry Telephone Cooperative Inc. and the South Carolina Bankers School.
