AT&T announced this week that higher speeds would become available in 17 areas throughout the Palmetto State.
The company is offering 1 gigabit per second for business clients through its Business Fiber. The company will also be launching U-verse Business Voice capabilities over this system. With this, calls made over the system will have greater sound quality and will also increase reliability.
“Our business customers have told us they need fast and reliable network solutions to stay connected and competitive,” President of AT&T South Carolina Pamela Lackey said. “The new speeds available with AT&T Business Fiber provide just that. As a result of the pro-investment business climate created by South Carolina’s leaders, we are investing heavily in our fiber-optics infrastructure, deploying increased speeds to both business and residential consumers across the state.”
With this download and upload speed, approximately 8,000 word processing documents could be downloaded in a second. The company also reports that a two-hour video at high definition could be downloaded in approximately 36 seconds and one terabyte hard drive can be backed up or restored in approximately 2.5 hours.
Areas that will have access include Columbia, Charleston, Greer, York, Summerville, Spartanburg, Mount Pleasant, Piedmont, among others.
