Before putting in the required time and effort necessary to complete a full application, South Carolina farmers can now visit a website to find out if they are eligible to receive South Carolina Farm Aid funding.
Through the site, farmers can also find a complete list of accompanying application documentation.
The actual application period will start in early July, but eligibility inquiries and documentation completion can be done now. An online calculator tool will be available when the application period begins so farmers can figure weighted average annual production history (APH), expected revenue and lost crop sales.
The site also features a listing of regional education sessions offered by Clemson Extension Service and South Carolina Department of Agriculture.
“This web page is a ‘one-stop shop’ for farmers who are submitting a Farm Aid application,” Commissioner Hugh Weathers said. “The design is user friendly and comprehensive.”
