District Five Academy for Success in Irmo, South Carolina is now under the leadership of a new principal.
The district's board has tapped Terrance Alridge, who holds a bachelor's degree in art history, a master's degree in educational administration and a doctorate degree in philosophy (all from the University of South Carolina), for the position.
“I am extremely excited about the opportunity to serve as the principal of the Academy for Success," Alridge said. "It is my goal to create a shared vision for students, staff and community members. I look forward to working with all the stakeholders over the next few weeks as we prepare for the 2016-17 school year.”
Alridge succeeds Don Hardie, who was with the Academy of Success for six years. Hardie is leaving the Academy to take the role of prinicpal at Saluda Middle School in Saluda County, South Carolina.
“We will certainly miss Mr. Hardie," District Five superintendent Stephen Hefner said. "He has done an excellent job at the Academy for Success and I am grateful for his years of excellent work and dedication. We wish him well in his new position. We are looking forward to having Dr. Alridge assume this important new role. He brings a wealth of skills, knowledge, experience, dedication and compassion to the Academy for Success.”
