More than 50 new jobs wil come to Denmark, South Carolina when Masonite International expands its operations there.
The new jobs will be for an additional auto line shift. The addition of a weekend shift is also planned, which may mean more jobs. Applications must be submitted at the plant, which is located at 1349 Locust Ave., Denmark, in Bamberg County.
“Masonite is a fine company that has been an asset to our county," Isaiah Odom, Bamberg County Council chair, said. "Every good job they provide in our area creates a better future for a family here, where Masonite continues to expand. We congratulate the company and want to help Masonite flourish in Bamberg County.”
Masonite's focus is the manufacture of decorative interior doors and entry door systems. Company officials said they expect to expand the Denmark plant further over the next several years.
“We appreciate Masonite’s continued investment in our region, where they already employ nearly 200 people," South Carolina Alliance President and CEO Danny Black said. "We are proud of the fact that our workforce has been a part of Masonite’s success at the Denmark facility, where Masonite continues to produce the world’s finest products in the industry."
Masonite's plants are located in more than 70 sites around the world; 37 of those sites are in the United States. The company is based in Tampa, Florida and employs over 10,000 people across the globe.
