Changes are afoot at the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce as a new member has joined the staff and and another staffer has been rewarded for exemplary performance with a promotion.
The chamber's new VP of advancement is Sean Tracey, who is tasked with developing the chamber's small business-related programming as well as leadership initiatives and the chamber's Charleston Young Professionals program.
Tracey comes to the chamber from the Charleston Aviation Authority, where he served as director of planning and development. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from St. Michael's College.
Chamber officials promoted Therese Gordon, who has been employed by the chamber since 2013, to the position of events and sponsorship manager. In this capacity, she will oversee sponsor relations and Chamber series events, including Business in your Backyard, Executive Women's Roundtable and State of the Region.
Gordon earmed a bachelor's degree in public relations from Temple University.
The Charleston Metro Chamber represents more than 125,000 professional members from 1,600 member organizations.
