Central Packaging and Crating to expand Greenwood County operations

Central Packaging and Crating is making $1 million investment to expand Greenwood plant.

Officials from wooden heat-treated pallet manufacturing company Central Packaging and Crating Inc. have announced plans to invest nearly $1 million in an expansion of the company's plant in Greenwood County, South Carolina.

“Our business has experienced tremendous growth and we look forward to supporting the Greenwood community for years to come,” Central Packaging and Crating President Kevin Neuman said.

The company, housed in four buildings on seven acres at 102 Joe Bernat Drive, Grenwood, began operations in 1998 and has grown to become one of the leading wooden pallet producers in the Palmetto State. The expansion will see new machinery installed at the plant, including automated nailers and gang saws — increasing the facility's per-hour capacity to 250 pallets per hour (3,000 pallets per day).

“We extend our congratulations to Central Packaging and Crating for their expansion in Greenwood County," Greenwood County Council Chair Steve Brown said. "We are thankful they have chosen to continue their growth in our community and wish them future success.”
