A new senior commercial lender is on the job at South Carolina’s South State Bank.
Tripp Whitener will serve commercial and industrial customers in the Columbia and Lexington areas. A Columbia native with more than two decades of experience in the banking industry, he comes to South State after having worked at banks in Greenville, Charlotte and Columbia.
Whitener’s most recent job was as a commercial and industrial middle market banker for a regional community bank.
“I am confident that Tripp’s experience and knowledge of the market will be an excellent match for this position and a strong asset to the team,” Jack Goettee, southern banking group president for South State Bank, said.
Whitener holds a bachelor of arts degree in political economy and philosophy from Wofford College. He graduated from Leadership Columbia and The Riley Institute Diversity Leaders Initiative of Furman.
