South Carolina's Callison Tighe law firm recently put a perpetual scholarship for students at the University of South Carolina School of Law in place to honor one of the firm's founders.
The establishment of the Michael W. Tighe scholarship coincides with Callison Tighe's 45th anniversary.
Michael Tighe said he was "surpised and humbled" that a scholarship was set up in his name.
Callison Tighe member Rick Detwiler called the scholarship "a legacy for the University of South Carolina and its law students."
“Mike is a dear friend and partner, and has been a mentor to me and so many others in our profession," Detwiler added. "We could think of no better way to honor the remarkable career of Mike Tighe than by inspiring others to learn from his example of scholarship, leadership, professionalism and dedication to the practice of law.”
