Officials from industrial group Atlas Copco announced recently that the company would be making a $20 million investment in Riverwalk Business Park in York County, South Carolina.

Copco's specialty is the manufacturing of industrial tools and construction equipment. The company plans to move its Medical Gas Solutions Division as well as production and assembly operations to Riverwalk Business Park.

Copco operates production facilities in 20 nations, including 125 in the United States, and employs more than 44,000 workers. The new York County facility will be housed in a newly-constructed 180,000-square-foot LEED-certified manufacturing and office facility on a 34-acre tract.

“We have proudly called Rock Hill our home for the past 20 years, because of the city’s resources for economic development of commercial and industrial businesses, as well as its accessibility," Atlas Copco Product Co. general manager Martina Schierholz said.

The new location is expected to be up and running in the first quarter of 2017. Hiring will begin later this year. For more information about Atlas Copco or employment with the company, log on to www.atlascopco.us.
