South Carolina non-profit Operation Home has a new leader with the appointment of executive director Mirian Langley.
Langley comes to Operation Home after a decade working with the Lowcountry Food Bank. In her new role she will be charged with overseeing day-to-day operations at Operation Home, which provides repairs that allow families to stay in their homes.
"We are thrilled to announce Miriam as Operation Home’s new executive director," Operation Home Board President Ben Liebetrau said. "Miriam’s passion, energy, and extensive experience in the non-profit realm will be a huge asset to the organization and the homeowners we serve. The board of directors has a high level of confidence in Miriam’s ability and leadership and is excited to watch the growth of Operation Home under her direction.”
Operation Home assists families in Charleston, Dorchester and Berkeley counties.
“Operation Home has been impacting people’s lives in our community for nearly 20 years,” Langley said. “My experience handling fundraising, volunteer management and public relations will enhance my ability to help grow Operation Home’s visibility, enabling us to reach even more people in need. Many families, children and seniors in our Tricounty area are faced with extremely difficult decisions about their living conditions and through increased community support I am confident that we can bring them hope.”
Operation Home serves more than 200 families each year.
