Brenda Lisbon, who serves as business intelligence director for the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW), has been tapped for membership on the Workforce Information Advisory Council (WIAC).
Lisbon will serve a three-year term with the council, which is a federal advisory committee and an offshoot of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA).
The committee works with the U.S. Secretary of Labor on matters related to the country's workforce and labor market.
"We are excited for Brenda, as this is an important council," DEW executive director Cheryl Stanton said. "She will be part of shaping how labor market information system can support workforce and economic development not just in South Carolina but across the nation.”
Fourteen members serve on the WIAC, which meets a minimum of two times a year.
