A South Carolina real estate agent has been tapped for a leadership position with the South Carolina Realtors (SCR) organization.
Laura Derrick, a member of the team at Coldwell Banker United in Columbia, was officially installed this past September as SCR's treasurer. She will oversee the association's financial matters and also serve as SCR's finance committee chair and as a member of the organization's Leadership Team, executive committee, board of directors, planning committee and legislative group.
In these capacities Derrick, a realtor for 30 years, will go to various state and national meetings.
“Laura is an asset to our association and her community. She brings a wealth of real estate expertise to the table and is always willing to help,” 2016 SCR President David Kent said.
Derrick served SCR as secretary in 2015 and Region 5 vice president in 2013 and 2014.
Her experience also includes a stint as president of the Central Carolina Realtor Association (CCRA); that group honored Derrick as its 2011 Realtor of the Year.
Through Coldwell Banker she has garnered several honors, including Top Sales, Top Listing Agent and Top Producer as well as the International President’s Circle. She holds Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Graduate of the Realtors Institute (GRI) designations.
