The HeARTs Speak’s Perfect Exposure Project has scheduled a two-day shelter marketing and photography workshop for the Charleston, South Carolina Animal Society from April 5 to 6.
The project is meant to help promote the marketing as well as creative skills that the volunteers and staff members at the shelter can use to save more lives. This is only possible if they can effectively encourage people to adopt more animals.
“We are so proud of this program, particularly because of its holistic approach,” Lisa Prince Fishler, the HeARTs Speak’s founder and executive director, said. “Anyone who spends time in a shelter knows that this work can be physically and emotionally demanding. We create a space to bring fun, imagination, and creativity into a workday, and we see a tangible energy and excitement grow amongst the shelter staff and volunteers during the workshop. I think this helps them to reset and refresh. It is our hope that when we leave, they can approach their work with fresh ideas and new tools with which to help the animals.”
This unique project features a two-day curriculum that guarantees the staff and volunteers will have hands-on experiences. They will work with experts who are involved in promoting and photographing animal shelters; the experts will offer inspiration and tips for engaging, creative marketing. This is the first step to a team-based, sustainable photography program that every shelter can use.
