New director of operations tapped at The Indigo Road Restaurant Group


Colan Vance has been chosen as the new director of operations at The Indigo Road Restaurant Group in Charleston, South Carolina, bringing with him approximately two decades of experience and his master’s in hospitality management.

Vance has had extensive, varied experience within the food and beverage industry. Before working at Indigo Road, he was a senior manager at several famous hotels and restaurants throughout the U.S. His most recent position was at Quince Pacific Avenue, where he worked after receiving his master’s in hospitality management at Florida International University.

“The Indigo Road Restaurant Group is a team of talented, hard-working individuals and I am honored to join them,” Vance said. “I connected with the team, their principles and practices from our initial phone conversation and that connection has continued while I have gotten more familiar with the restaurants and everyone who works there.”

Vance’s responsibilities include new hires, budgets, and business operations at Indaco, Oak Steakhouse, The Macintosh, O-ku, Mercantile and Mash, The Cedar Room, The Cocktail Club, and Bar Mash. He will collaborate with Steve Palmer, the managing partner of the business.

“Beyond his resume, Colan and I hit it off right away due to our shared passion for hospitality,” Palmer said. “I feel lucky to have him join our team and I know he will fit in our culture perfectly.”
