A new Mexican restaurant is set to open its doors this summer near the beach in Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina.
Mex 1 Coastal Cantina will offer diners a full menu of baja Mexican fare, including cocktails made using premium tequila. The new eatery will be located in the SALT at Station 22 building and is owned by Dave and Chrissy Lorenz and their business partner, Roddy Smith.
The Sullivan’s Island location will be the second Mex 1; another restaurant can be found in West Ashley, South Carolina.
“We wanted a cantina style restaurant with a vibe that makes guests forget about their daily grind and embodies the surfing and coastal lifestyle,” Dave Lorenz said. “We couldn’t be more excited to be joining the Sullivan’s Island community and bringing Mex 1 to the beach.”
The beef, poultry and seafood items at Mex 1 are made in-house and prepared fresh daily. House specialties include Bangin’ Shrimp, Mahi fish tacos, quesadillas, rice bowls, tortas and fresh salads.
The extensive cocktail menu includes margaritas and Mezcals infused in-house with pineapple, habeneros, berries and jalapenos.
