A $2.6 million investment by Essex Weld Solutions will bring 70 new jobs to upstate South Carolina.
Officials from international company Essex Weld Solutions, which produces automotive racking products, recently announced plans to set up shop in Cherokee County, South Carolina. The company, an offshoot of Essex Weld USA, will also provide professional engineering services and certifications for shipping and storage containers.
“We believe we are uniquely situated to meet the needs of Essex Weld USA Inc. with our highly experienced workforce, and we look forward to working with the company leadership to ensure great success,” Cherokee County Council chair Tim Spencer said.
Robotic technology is used in the company’s processes. The South Carolina plant will be housed in a 15,000-square-foot industrial warehouse at 597 Ford Rd., Gaffney. Hiring is already being conducted for two shifts; potential employees can get more information at www.essexweldsolutions.com.
