Proper Polymers launching Greenville County operations

Injection mold and derivative technologies firm Proper Polymers is making a $15-million investment in Greenville County, South Carolina with the establishment of a new plant in Columbia.

“Our company is thankful for the opportunity to grow our business in South Carolina and further support our customer base in this region," Joe Grippe, president of Proper Polymers, said. "The state and local governments have been very accommodating in supporting our second facility in the Upstate area.”

The company is a full-service supplier of plastic injection molded products and assemblies for the automotive industry. The new plant will create 87 jobs and will be housed in a new, 50,000-square-foot facility in Matrix Park. Hiring is expected to begin this summer; operations should be up and running by October.

"Proper Polymers is a great example of the ‘ripple effect’ that occurs when an automotive original equipment manufacturer, Magna Decostar, comes to supply BMW, and Proper Polymers comes to supply Magna," Greenville County Council chair Bob Taylor said. "We are grateful to all three for their commitment to our area and welcome Proper Polymers to our family of automotive companies.”
