Lasenta Lewis-Ellis, president and CEO of Columbia, South Carolina-based LLE Construction Group LLC, has been named a 2016 Enterprising Woman of the Year by Enterprising Women magazine.
Lewis-Ellis was the award recipient in the "Over $1 Million and Up to $2 million in Annual Revenues" division. Awards are presented to leaders of rapidly growing businesses dedicated to the support and mentoring of women and girls in the area of entrepreneurship who are also leaders in their communities.
“It is an honor to be recognized alongside female entrepreneurs from around the world who are having a positive economic and societal impact on their local and national communities," Lewis-Ellis said. "I hope this sparks an entrepreneurial spirit in young girls everywhere, and especially those right here in my backyard. ”
Lewis-Ellis' newest business project is Need-A-Lift Transportation Services LLC, a service for children who need rides to and from extracurricular activties and appointments. She is also actively involved in the development of Beyond the Lemonade Stand Entrepreneur Camp for Girls.
“The recipients of the 2016 Enterprising Women of the Year Award represent an amazing group of women entrepreneurs from across the United States and as far away as China, Egypt, South Africa, Uganda, the United Kingdom and Portugal," Enterprising Women's publisher and CEO Monica Smiley said.
Lewis-Ellis will accept her award on March 1 at the Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration & Conference in Miami, Florida.
