A new member has joined the management team at the College of Charleston School of Business in Charleston, South Carolina.
Karen Salem is the new director of admissions for the school's masters of business administration (MBA) program. Her duties will include working with the director of student services while seeking new students for the one-year program, communicating with students considering pursuing their MBAs at the school, and assisting incoming students with their applications and paperwork.
Salem earned her M.Ed degree from the University of Alabama. She brings to Charleston School of Business 25 years of experience in the corporate and higher education fields. She has worked for the University of Alabama, Charleston Southern University and The Citadel Graduate College.
She also has experience in human resources, having worked for a Fortune 500 company.
“Karen has the experience our accelerated MBA program needs,” Jim Kindley, Charleston School of Business's MBA program director, said. “She has successfully attracted students to top programs elsewhere, and brings great ideas and energy.”
