Charleston-based Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) will be led in 2016 by new President Kristen Nichols.
CREW's goal is to spotlight achievements made by women in the area who work in the commercial real estate field. Charleston is one of the newest of CREW's more than 9,500 chapters; its membership includes women in the area who work as brokers, bankers, developers, architects and engineers.
Nationally, the organization is dedicated to boosting business development, leadership and community outreach initiatives.
Nichols holds a bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina and a law degree from Michigan State University. An attorney, she works for Charleston firm Turner Padget on cases involving lending transactions. She also does business and commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution. She has served as counsel for several of Charleston's banks, lending institutions, investors and small business owners.
Nichols also uses her expertise as a public speaker at college and secondary school events.
