For the next two years, attorney Sima Patel will help shape the field of law in South Carolina as a member of the board of directors for the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association (SCWLA).
Patel is a lawyer for Nexsen Pruet, which operates eight offices throughout the Carolinas. She has counseled clients in commercial cases as well as government investigations and civil litigation.
“We are really happy to have Sima joining us as a member of our board of directors,” Nexsen Pruet’s Marguerite Willis, immediate past president of SCWLA, said. “Sima will bring great energy and vision to SCWLA, especially at a time when we are looking to strengthen our organization in the Upstate.”
SCWLA's membership is committed to spotlighting South Carolina's women lawyers and their accomplishments.
Civilly active, Patel is on the boards of Gateway and the Opportunity Greenville Committee for the Greenville Chamber of Commerce.
Based in Greenville, she earned a bachelor of arts from the University of San Diego and a law degree from the American University Washington College of Law.
Patel has been the recipient of many other honors, such as inclusion in the recent Best & Brightest Under 35 list compiled by Greenville Business magazine.
