Nexsen Pruet's Floyd tapped to lead IABC/SC in 2016

The South Carolina Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC/SC) recently announced the appointment of nine new board members, including new president Kevin Floyd.

“We’re preparing for a banner year in 2016,” Floyd, the communications manager for Nexsen Pruet LLC, said. “This year, we’re focusing squarely on member benefits, including new professional development that will benefit communicators across industry sectors in the Palmetto State.”

Leading the organization alongside Floyd will be President-Elect Alison Shuman, corporate communications coordinator for S.C. Farm Bureau; Past President Patrick Cobb, director of communications for AARP; Vice President of Communications Dickson Monk, director of marketing and communications for Historic Columbia; Secretary Michelle Foster, director of communications at the University of South Carolina; Vice President of Finance Jeanne Reynolds, director of corporate communications and media relations for Colonial Life; Vice President of Membership Development and Retention Cynthia South, president of South Co.; and Vice Presidents of Professional Development and Programs Kimberly South, communications coordinator of Palmetto Health and Eric Boomhower, director of public affairs at SCANA Corp.

Re-elected as IABC/SC's student chapter liaison was University of South Carolina professor Tom Klipstine. Also continuing in her role with the organization for another year will be Karla Falk, IABC/SC chapter administrator.
