New Jersey-based 3i Products Inc. officials recently announced plans to set up operations in Lancaster County.
Over the next five years, the $3 million investment will create 100 new jobs.
“3i Products is very excited about our move to the Lancaster area and looks forward to opening our new facility and bringing new jobs and growth to the area," 3i Products Chairman Tim Chen said. "We appreciate all the work of the local members of the county, Gov. Nikki Haley and her team in the state of South Carolina for making this project a reality.”
3i manufactures and markets pillows and cushions for indoor and outdoor use. The firm began operations in 2012.
"South Carolina’s positive business climate and excellent workforce continues to attract businesses of all types to our borders," South Carolina Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt said. "This includes newly established firms, like 3i Products Inc., which has chosen Lancaster County for its new facility, bringing 100 new jobs to the local community.”
The Lancaster County facility will be housed in an existing 27,000-square-foot building off Chester Highway. Hiring will begin in April, and the plant is expected to be operating sometime in the second quarter. To learn more about jobs at 3i or to apply for open positions, visit www.sctechjobs.com.
"We are all very excited to see existing structures return to productive use and appreciate 3i's investment in capital and in putting Lancaster's citizens to work," Lancaster County Council Chariman Bob Bundy said. "We are also appreciative of the combined efforts of the city, state and county to help provide the infrastructure needs to make this investment possible."
