Raleigh, North Carolina based O2 Fitness recently completed upgrades and a name change to several of its Lowcountry locations.
The 12 former East Shore Athletic Clubs, which O2 Fitness purchased nearly two years ago, have been renamed and upgraded with just less than $2 million spent on the upgrades.
“When we purchased the clubs there was a lot to do in terms of bringing them in line with how we operate,” O2 Fitness CEO Michael D. Olander Jr said. “We wanted to put our programming, service and internal structure in place first, before we put the O2 Fitness name on anything. Over the past two years we’ve addressed big-ticket items, like locker room and pool upgrades, in addition to significant equipment improvements and a staff expansion so that we can offer the O2 Fitness member experience that is our cornerstone in other markets.”
All of the Charleston, South Carolina-area clubs have fully functional training areas that include gym turf, TRX bands, battle ropes and other amenities. The group fitness rooms boast new flooring and stages as well. The Dorchester Road club received expanded training space and a refurbished pool. The location in Mount Pleasant is getting cycle studio LED light shows, upgrades to its spa and pool areas and new TVs throughout.
