Francis M. Ervin II has been tapped to lead the new Charleston, South Carolina office of law firm Rogers Townsend & Thomas.
The new office is at 321 East Bay St. in Charleston's historic Blake-Grimke House. Ervin will continue to work for the firm as special counsel and litigator.
Ervin's career has seen him as the defense lawyer for personal injury and property damage cases related to the trucking industry. He has also represented defendants in various insurance-related suits, including medical malpractice. He also has experience in construction defect and product liability as well as trademark and copyright laws.
Ervin gives of his time to assist young lawyers as a mentor for the South Carolina Lawyer Mentoring Program.
Outside of the office and courtroom, Ervin chairs the Sustainability Institute of South Carolina's board of directors and sits on the board of the Redux Contemporary Art Center. He is also a member of the Development Committee of the McLeod Health Foundation board and has been named a fellow of the McLeod Health Foundation.
