Longtime Charleston-area financial adviser joins Securian

Wallace "Ed" Cook II and his company, Carolina Capital Management, recently joined Securian Financial Group Inc.


Wallace "Ed" Cook II and his company, Carolina Capital Management of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, recently joined Securian Financial Group Inc., a mutual financial services corporation based in St. Paul, Minnesota.

"This is a win-win for both my clients and me,” Cook said. “Securian is a highly regarded firm with a wealth of financial talent and resources. I’m excited about how this new opportunity will further my ability to help my clients achieve their financial goals and dreams.”

Cook, who has three decades of experience in capital management, is now one of Securian's 1,100 affiliated independent financial advisers. Carolina Capital Management will keep its name.

Carolina Capital Management is at 880 Whipple Road in Mount Pleasant. As one of Securian's registered representatives, Cook has access to more investment, insurance and retirement offerings for his clients, both individuals and small business owners.

Carolina Capital Management is also affiliated with financial planning firm Shoemaker Financial of Germantown, Tennessee.
