A year-and-a-half after its launch, Greenville Tech Foundation's Empowering Tomorrow Capital Campaign has exceeded its $3 million goal.
“We are grateful for the community’s support of this campaign," Greenville Tech Foundation President Bob Howard said. "That help is evidence of the success that Greenville Technical College has had in developing our workforce.”
Contributions will continue to be accepted for the campaign, which will provide scholarships for Greenville Tech students ($1 million) as well as equipment ($484,000) and other necessary materials for the school ($1.6 million).
A large boost to the fund came in the form of $500,000 gift from a retired faculty member from Greenville Tech's Writing Center. That gift has been designated for supplies and equipment for the center.
“Even though we have reached a fundraising milestone, our efforts must continue so that the college can meet our responsibility to employers, students, and the community,” Howard said.
