The deadline for applications for federal historic preservation grants through the South Carolina Department of Archives and History's State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) for fiscal year 2016 is Feb. 5, 2016.
Eligible projects are in the areas of survey and planning, as well as stablization. Projects must be located in one of South Carolina's 35 Certified Local Government (CLG) communities.

Grant awards range from $2,500 to $25,000, with the maximum typically set at $30,000. The SHPO estimates up to $100,000 will be available for all grants.
