The new Impresa Aerospace location in Goose Creek, South Carolina, has become an active member of the Greater Charleston Area Chamber of Commerce.
"We are excited to be a part of such an important and dynamic region, and we want to thank everyone for the warm welcome and all the help we’ve received throughout this journey," Ed Kalvenas, the Goose Creek facility's general manager, said.
Kalvenas is a new addition to Impresa, but he has worked in the Charleston region before. He has served as a manager for Parker Hannifin's gas turbine fuel systems unit and has worked in other areas of the aerospace field.
The investment Impresa made in the area focused on a multimillion-dollar deal including real estate, machinery and equipment. Plans for the near future include upgrades to the facility, hiring more staff members and continued training for new and existing employees.
A variety of skilled labor, management and administrative jobs will be created at the facility over the next several years.
"Although we’ve only been in the state a short time, we can already see that the Lowcountry is an ideal fit for Impresa," Kalvenas said.
