Silcotech has announced plans to invest another $2.5 million in its York County operations.

On the heels of its recent grand opening, liquid injection molding company Silcotech has announced plans to invest another $2.5 million in its York County, South Carolina, operations.

“We are excited to see the manufacturing success of Silcotech's first U.S. operations here in York County, South Carolina," York County Council Chair Britt Blackwell said. "We recognize the importance of supporting this international firm within our county and state."

Silcotech is based in Ontario, Canada. Its silicone products are used by the medical, health care, automotive, packaging, electronics and other industries. The York County facility opened in January -- an investment of $3.5 million. More than 40 workers are employed there.

The company also has a plant in India.

“Silcotech is a global leader in liquid injection molding for the medical, health care, automotive, packaging, consumer electronics and consumer markets since 1984," Isolde Boettger, Silotech's vice president, said. "Silcotech achieves and maintains this position through a firm commitment in growing the potential of each individual working for the company.”
