Poly-America invests $100 million to open Chester County facility.
Poly-America, one of the country's major polyethylene film manufacturers, has announced plans to launch South Carolina operations with Carolina Poly Inc. in Chester County, South Carolina.
The new operations are a $100 million investment that will create 300 new jobs in Chester County.
“Carolina Poly will enable us to stay ahead of growing customer demand for our products and to realize logistical efficiencies in servicing our customers in the Southeast and Northeast," Trent Mallory, vice president of sales for Poly-America, said.
Carolina Poly will be housed in a 475,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on 198 acres at 1580 Lancaster Highway. It is expected to be up and running by mid-2017; hiring should begin in late 2016.
Poly-America was established in 1976 and is based in Grand Prairie, Texas.
“Actively marketing and promoting Chester County’s unique assets and advantages in South Carolina, we have been able to attract exceptional companies, such as Poly America," Chester County Supervisor Shane Stuart said.
