Jon Tirpak named ASM's international board president.
Jon Tirpak of SCRA Applied R&D has been announced as ASM International's new international board president.
The appointment was made during the organization's recent annual business meeting, which took place at the Materials Science & Technology Technical Meeting and Exposition in Columbus, Ohio.
Tirpak is the senior program manager for SCRA Applied R&D's Advanced Materials Division. In that capacity, he works with materials-dependent technologies.
Additionally, he is the current executive director of the Forging Industry Association - Department of Defense Manufacturing Consortium and Senior Program Manager of the Defense Logistics Agency's PRO-FAST program, both of which are overseen by SCRA.
"Jon is a valuable member of our team and will continue to serve ASM International very well in his new capacity on the board," said SCRA Applied R&D President Chris Van Metre. "We congratulate Jon on achieving this milestone."
Tirpak holds a license in metallurgical engineering in South Carolina and is a past trustee of ASM International, where he formerly chaired the New Products and Services and the Federal Affairs Committees and is presently serving on the Finance and Investment Committees.
He has been affiliated with ASM since 1980.
