Columbia-based insurance provider and business process outsourcing solutions company Seibels Bruce Group Inc. recently donated $10,000 to the United Way of the Midlands Flood Disaster Relief Fund.
The fund is dedicated to rebuilding the Columbia community in the wake of flooding that led to a state of emergency being declared in the Palmetto State. All donations to the fund will benefit local organizations assisting those impacted by the flooding.
“Seibels is proud to be a part of the relief effort that United Way of the Midlands is providing,” Rex Huggins, chairman and chief executive officer of Seibels, said. “So many people have been adversely affected by the devastation caused by the flooding, and as an active and longstanding member of the Columbia community, we want to do what we can to help.”
United Way of the Midlands CEO and President Mac Bennett expressed appreciation for the donation.
“At United Way, we continue to be impressed by how many organizations around the Midlands are stepping up to meet the needs of the community in the aftermath of the floods,” he said.
