Richland County Councilmembers Damon Jeter of District Three, Jim Manning of District Eight, Greg Pearce of District Six, and Kelvin Washington of District 10 met Thursday to discuss the development of the new Decker Center.
Representatives from two companies that will be working on the center -- construction management group Brownstone and general contracting firm H.G. Reynolds -- gave presentations.
The Decker Center, located in the old Kroger shopping center, will be the site of the Central Court Magistrate's office, the sheriff's department substation, and be available as a meeting space to members of the community.
Plans are for the substation to house a civil and criminal warrants departments, an investigative unit, and a site from which all county deputies will get their equipment.
The projected completion date for the Decker Center is the fourth quarter of 2016. For more information, contact the Office of Richland County Council at (803) 576-2060 or email email@example.com.
