Genevieve McGroarty has joined the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce as the organization's associate vice president of communications.
McGroarty worked with the South Carolina Department of Commerce after spending the six years prior working on Capitol Hill as communications director for Congressman Robert Hut and deputy press secretary for House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.
McGroarty graduated from Furman University.
“We are pleased to announce that Genevieve has joined our team here at the South Carolina Chamber,” Chamber President Ted Pitts said. “She brings with her a unique skill set and a wealth of knowledge on the issues that businesses are facing at both the state and federal levels.
"Genevieve’s previous experiences will be an asset in developing our strategy and spreading the message on behalf of the state’s business community," Pitts said. "We are lucky to have her on board.”
