New renovations and menu improvements were made and recently unveiled at Charleston's Noisy Oyster restaurants.
The eateries are owned by Wade Boals, a fourth-generation restauranteur, and his business partner Brett Yearout. The restaurants are located at 7842 Rivers Ave. and 24 N. Market St. and have been in operation for 25 years.
To make the enhancements to the menu, Boals and Yearout enlisted the assistance of chef Bob Waggoner. The new menu items include more local ingredients, and the menu as a whole features a farm-to-table perspective.
Waggoner also consulted on plate presentation.
The renovations to the restaurants' interiors feature an open floor plan, new decor, updated color palette and more than ten HDTVs.
"As a fourth-generation restaurant owner and native of Charleston, my family has been part of building the Lowcountry restaurant scene to what it is now," Boals said. "I started working early in life for my dad, Ronnie Boals, in the kitchen and have been proud of our contribution.”
"With the growth happening here, updating our locations was key," Yearout said. "With more people moving to the Lowcountry, it was our opportunity to gain new customers and show our existing customer base how serious we are about celebrating another 25 years.”
Desserts at the Noisy Oyster are now made in-house daily by head baker Angie Brown, who has been with the Boals family since she started her career 22 years ago.
Their catering division, A Southern Affair Catering & Events, caters corporate events for large companies.
