Independent insurance broker Palmer & Cay recently named Howard McClure president of Palmer & Cay of Texas LLC, which will serve to reform the company’s operations in Dallas.
Palmer & Cay, which is based in Georgia, established itself in the Texas market in 1999. The 137--year-old firm was bought out in 2005 by Wachovia Corp., and since then the name Palmer & Cay virtually disappeared.
From 2002 to 2005, McClure was the president of Palmer & Cay’s Dallas operations, growing the business to $10 million in yearly revenue with just 60 employees.
Now, the company is to be relaunched by its fifth-generation leader and former president Jack E. Cay IV. He seeks to reform and revise the company’s emphasis on client service, technical expertise and industry specialization. These characteristics have fueled the company’s ongoing success for more than 100 years. Now, the firm will base its operations out of Charleston, Atlanta, Dallas and Savannah.
McClure, a Dallas native, is a 30-year veteran of the insurance industry. In the Dallas business community, he is respected as an established leader as well as an insurance professional.
