Wiggles & Whimsy, which offers families online subscriptions through which they can obtain learning toys, has launched in the Charleston, South Carolina, area -- the culmination of three months of testing.
Through Wiggles & Whimsy, customers can choose toys from more than 20 lines and order them for to-their-door delivery. When children are ready for new toys, parents select new items for delivery and the old toys are picked up. Monthly subscription fees allow for unlimited toy exchanges.
According to owner Lisa Beatty, the company will first concentrate on building a customer base in the Charleston area before branching out into the surrounding region.
“After the arrival of our second child, we were swamped with too much clutter in our home, most of that being toys," Beatty said. "We were buying new toys too often, and our kids were losing interest in them within a matter of weeks. Toys piled up and we felt like we needed a solution to reduce clutter, save money and most importantly, keep our kids engaged. Wiggles & Whimsy seemed like a great solution."
In addition to the toy-sharing business, Beatty has also launched a blog featuring ideas for simplifying life with children.
